For my 27 years in life, I've been physically challenged, yet still able to withstand life's fiercest battle (not to brag about .. but my friends and family can atest to that). I have a walking problem, that can be corrected through surgery, survival rate is 50/50 percent. 50 percent I could walk normally through intensive theraphy after , or 50% I could be stuck in a chair forever. I have yet realized, what is really in the kid's heart and how he sees me as me.
One Sunday afternoon , about 4:30 pm ... I was with Aaron , my baby's 11 year old son, (a very intelligent kid, I sure do know kung saan nagmana). We were crossing one of Cebu's busy streets on our way to Robinsons, as I was busy seeing through traffic for us to cross safely , this is what Aaron has to say :
Aaron : "Kuya , daghan tawo nagtan-aw nimo , suya lang sila because unsa naa nimo wala nila"
To my amazement, it almost made my heart stop for a second , it impressed me , a kids' view of what I am ...of who I am. In a kids' heart , there is truth , sincerity, love , and passion to learn new things. As this kid grows to become a man someday, I promised myself to be always there for him, as long as I can be. Their innocence baffles my mind, it always make me think, they have a key to so-called LIFE, bringing out the inner child in us doesn't always hurt. As we wake up everyday of our lives , let us make it a point to let out the inner child in us , even for a moment. To Rad Aaron, my sincerest thanks to you kid... I could say , he's a full grown man in a kids' body.
